The Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure for the operation of temporary shelters for IDPs. For the first time, it defines the mechanism for establishing and registering such sites and the minimum requirements for the livelihood of IDPs.

In particular, it is planned to divide the premises into common areas and areas with equipped beds. Requirements are set for climate, minimum bed area, kitchens, bathrooms, washing machines, and more.

The regional and Kyiv city military administrations are obliged to bring the conditions of temporary accommodation facilities in line with the approved standards within six months.

In addition, the government’s decision instructed these military administrations to monitor the condition and arrangement of temporary shelters. And also to approve a list of such places in the respective region. This monitoring will be done every 6 months in the future.

The Ministry of Reintegration on behalf of Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal developed the resolution to implement the State Policy Strategy on Internal Displacement until 2025.
