Evacuating residents from Donetsk region to safe areas in Ukraine is ongoing

For more than a year, mandatory evacuation of the population of Donetsk region has been underway. As of August 2022, more than 91,000 residents have moved to safer areas. Over 11,500 children and over 4,000 people with limited mobility are included in that number.

 

Currently, people are required to leave Donetsk region, and they are transported by a specific train to Zhytomyr region every eight days on even dates. Upon arrival, those who have been evacuated will receive financial help from the government: 3,000 UAH for children and people with disabilities, and 2,000 UAH for adults.

 

 

In the Zhytomyr region, IDPs are housed in free shelters. They provide humanitarian and psychological assistance and assistance in obtaining an IDP certificate and IDP benefits.
