Olesya is a practical psychologist and social worker. Before the full-scale invasion, she worked at the Donetsk Regional Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children and Adolescents with Functional Disabilities. The institution was moved to Sloviansk at that time.

But she had to leave her hometown when the full-scale invasion began. The woman, however, continued to try to engage in public activities.

Olesia learned about the creation of the Council for Internally Displaced Persons after moving to Rivne. So she applied for membership. On September 15, Ms. Olesia was elected to lead the regional body. About a dozen other IDPs joined the team with her.

Today, Olesya Babushkina helps internally displaced people and dreams that everyone will be able to return to their homes.
