Currently, there are 510 IDP councils operational. Their priorities include integrating IDPs into communities, providing housing, and aiding vulnerable categories of IDPs.

It was discussed at a regular meeting of the Coordination Center for Internally Displaced Persons.

The active proliferation of councils throughout Ukraine demonstrates the effectiveness of this mechanism.

The meeting covered the expansion of IDP council powers and organizational concerns such as council member counts and member categories.

Representatives from the IDP Council and civil society organizations had a significant role in drafting these proposed amendments.

“To establish an efficient system, we must consider all proposals,” summarized Iryna Vereshchuk.
