Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk chaired the meeting. The participants discussed the resumption of the work of the State Migration Service in the de-occupied territories.

Participants addressed issues of identification and documentation of Ukrainian citizens living in the TOT, among others.  And also – the priority actions of the Ukrainian authorities to foreigners, citizens of the russian federation, who will be in the respective territories.

The SMS expressed the position that foreigners who entered the TOT after its occupation could be subject to the legal procedure of forced return. If they do not comply with the forced return decision, they will be deported.

The State Migration Policy Strategy includes an action plan for the SMS to work with these categories of citizens in Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions after their de-occupation. It will be finalized due to consideration of the positions of other stakeholders expressed during the meeting.

For its part, the Ministry of Internal Affairs presented a concept for the resumption of law enforcement activities in the de-occupied territories. It is based on a series of measures to create a safe space for the population of the liberated territories.
