The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine held consultations with the law enforcement and judicial authorities of Georgia to agree on a mechanism for the return to Ukraine of our fellow citizens who served their sentences in prisons of the TOT and were deported to the territory of the russian federation.

The Deputy Minister of the Interior announced at a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters, led by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, about ensuring the departure of Ukrainian citizens from the TOT.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs worked together to establish contact with the Georgian side through different communication channels, such as law enforcement requests, speedy information exchange, and diplomatic methods.

Ukrainians who completed prison terms in TOT prisons and were deported to russia can legally return to their homeland through Georgia, with the help of ongoing communication between relevant agencies of both countries.
