Iryna Vereshchuk thanked Save the Children in Ukraine for helping to bring Ukrainian children back home after they were deported.

“We must keep fighting for these children’s future, no matter how much effort it requires,” stated the Vice Prime Minister to the organization’s representatives.

Save the Children in Ukraine began working six months ago. They started working with the Ukrainian Network for the Rights of the Child.

They also talked about continuing “The Way Home” project. It is aimed at finding and returning children from the russian federation and the temporarily occupied territories, as well as at reuniting families whose children are without parents in the occupation.

Thanks to this program, by the middle of November 2023, 45 children – 23 boys and 22 girls – were returned.

The Ukrainian Child Rights Network and Save the Children in Ukraine are working together to implement this project. The Ministry of Reintegration is partnering on this project too.
