The Ukrainian government passed the “Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Recognition of Educational Results of Persons Residing in the Temporarily Occupied Territory of Ukraine” during its second reading.

The law, in particular, allows residents of such territories to continue their education in Ukrainian educational institutions or obtain a certain degree.

The Government will establish a list of educational institutions that will conduct such certification. They will also determine the list of professions that cannot be certified.

The adoption of this law facilitates the reintegration of the residents of the temporarily occupied territories into the educational space of Ukraine.

The Draft Law was developed on the initiative of the Presidential Mission of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and deputies of the Parliament of Ukraine.

Members of the Committee on Education, Science, and Innovation in the Verkhovna Rada also participated in the drafting of the law.
