For more than a year now, the mandatory evacuation of the population of Donetsk Oblast has been underway. Thus, since August 2022, more than 97,000 people have moved to safe regions. Among them are more than 12.5 thousand children and more than 4.5 thousand people with limited mobility.

Currently, people are required to leave Donetsk region using a specific train that runs to Zhytomyr region every 8 days, only on even-numbered days. Upon arrival, individuals who have been evacuated receive financial aid from the government in the form of 3,000 UAH for children and people with disabilities, and 2,000 UAH for adults.

Internally displaced people in the Zhytomyr region are housed in free shelters and assisted in areas such as humanitarian aid, legal matters, and psychological support.
