On November 22, this issue was discussed at a meeting of the National Commission on the Crimean Tatar Language.  Specifically, using it to refer to place names of Turkic origin or historical Crimean Tatar names. 

The decision is being made to enforce a law that condemns and prohibits the promotion of russian imperial Policy in Ukraine and the Decolonization of Toponymy.

Currently, mechanisms are being agreed upon that will allow Latin script place names in the media and scholarly works. It will be used on road signs and maps. We will talk to operators who make maps and maintain signs to do this.

Following the meeting, the National Commission told the Government to make a corresponding decision. This issue will be resolved in cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Reintegration, the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Republic of Crimea, the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, and the Institute of National Memory.
