The Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has approved the composition of the Special Committee on the Situation of Children in Ukraine. A member of Ukrainian group in the PACE, Yevhenia Kravchuk, shared this on her Facebook page.
The committee will work on the issue of large-scale kidnapping and deportation of Ukrainian children by Russian aggressors in the temporarily occupied territories, and the protection of the rights of children affected by russian aggression.
The PACE Vice-President Olena Khomenko, a delegate from Ukraine, chaired the committee. The first meeting of the Committee will be held on December 15 in Paris.
This spring, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe recognized the deportation of Ukrainian children to russia as genocide.
