It is called the Office of Trade Sanctions Implementation (OTSI). The British government’s website reports this.
The unit will begin operation in the early part of next year.
The agency will monitor compliance with trade restrictions, investigate potential violations, impose penalties, and refer cases requiring criminal proceedings to the State Revenue and Customs Service.
The OTSI will monitor companies that attempt to bypass sanctions by shipping products through other countries.
The unit was created just before the UK imposed additional sanctions on the aggressive country.
