The Netherlands allocates €102 million for support to Ukraine

The government plans to provide over €2 billion for humanitarian needs in 2024. The Netherlands government reported

The tranche is intended to assist Ukraine during the first four months of 2024 to get through the winter and prepare for spring.

The financial assistance package will distribute funds in the following ways:

 

  • The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs will receive EUR 15 million for humanitarian aid;
  • 15 million EUR will be used to finance the demining of agricultural land and liberated territories;
  • The Government of Ukraine will receive €62 million to support the provision of basic services and restore critical infrastructure. The funding will also aid reforms under the Special Recovery Program for Ukraine and Moldova;
  • The Ukrainian power grid will receive €10 million to finance equipment.
