Currently, approximately 4,000 foster children have been sent to TOT or deported to the russian federation.
The guardianship and custody authorities cannot adequately monitor the living and upbringing conditions of the children. Additionally, it is impossible to track their potential movements.
Moreover, numerous families with children under their care have lost touch with them, and the children’s whereabouts are unknown.
The Government recently approved changes to the powers of the heads of district state administrations and executive bodies of local councils. Applications must now be submitted to the National Police to search for orphans and children deprived of parental care who have been forcibly displaced to the territory of the aggressor state or who have remained in the TOT or with whom there is no contact.
The draft resolution aims to strengthen the protection of the rights of status children under martial law. It was developed on behalf of Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.
