The Ministry of Reintegration is still receiving inquiries about missing persons and related issues.
In September 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution to transfer the Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances functions to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, and the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. However, this change should not affect the search for missing persons.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has been coordinating the search for individuals and managing the registry. The Ministry of Defense has been searching for deceased bodies, while the Coordination Center has been facilitating the exchange of bodies.
To contact the Office of the Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances, call their hotline at 16-98. The hotline is available Monday through Saturday from 09:00 to 18:00.
The Unified Register of Persons Missing in Special Circumstances provides information and advice to relatives of missing persons. They also prepare questionnaires for the Commissioner.
