During a weekly meeting on veterans’ policy chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, the NGO ‘Place of Opportunities’ presented an initiative.
The essence of this initiative is to ensure that veterans and their families, even in remote communities, receive high-quality and professional services. These services include assistance with paperwork, benefits, social guarantees, legal counseling, and psychosocial support.
Special mobile groups were created under the Coalition of Veterans’ Spaces for this purpose.
We aim to provide these services at the district center, town, and village levels. These services will include lawyers, psychologists, and case managers.
Mobile teams have been supporting veterans and their families in Mykolaiv, Odesa, Lviv, Vinnytsia, and Khmelnytskyi regions since mid-December.
The Ukrainian government is receiving support from the business sector. ‘Ukrnafta’ has purchased and donated special vehicles for mobile groups, according to Serhiy Koretsky, the company’s chief.
Mobile groups with similar characteristics will soon emerge in the Sumy, Chernihiv, and Rivne regions.
“I also thank everyone who financially supports such important initiatives for veterans,” concluded the Vice Prime Minister.
