Iryna Vereshchuk, the Vice Prime Minister, stated this during an interview on Suspilne TV.
She stated that Poland is Ukraine’s primary trade and geopolitical partner. In 2023, the trade turnover between our countries reached $12 billion.
During a regular meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, Iryna Vereshchuk discussed joint border and customs control, transportation, and transit of agricultural products.
The official announced that a team of government officials, led by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, will hold consultations on these issues in Warsaw in late March.
We agreed to go to Warsaw and meet with representatives of the agricultural sector. We will present statistics and other necessary information to assure Polish farmers that they need not fear Ukrainian grain. Our common enemy is russia and its partially stolen grain. We must work together to impose sanctions on russian agricultural products in the European Union. The Baltic countries fully support us in this endeavor. Iryna Vereshchuk summarized that the Sejm of the Republic of Poland has also adopted a corresponding resolution. She thanked the Polish partners for their understanding and support.
