The Swiss government says the Federal Council decided on April 10.

The Federal Council plans to help Ukraine recover and work with the private sector over the next few years. It plans to spend 5 billion CHF on this.

The money will be given out in stages. By 2028, 1.5 billion Swiss francs will be allocated from the international cooperation budget.

The Federal Council plans to find other sources of funding for 3.5 billion Swiss francs between 2029 and 2036.

It is noted that Switzerland has already spent approximately 3 billion Swiss francs to support individuals and communities affected by the war in Ukraine. Of this amount, the State Secretariat for Migration has allocated 2.5 billion to support Ukrainian asylum seekers who have sought refuge in Switzerland.
