The Cabinet of Ministers has today adopted a resolution entitled “On Approval of the Procedure for Identifying and Returning Children Deported or Forcibly Displaced as a Result of the Armed Aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.”

The Ministry of Reintegration created the draft act as part of the Bring Kids Back UA plan, which is part of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s “Peace Formula.”

The Procedure defines the interaction between entities involved in the search, return, and provision of social protection and reintegration of children, including orphans and children deprived of parental care.

We’re also talking about children at risk of deportation or displacement.

The subjects are representatives of central and local executive authorities, local governments, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the National Information Bureau.

The Ministry of Reintegration has been designated as the coordinating entity for the interaction of the actors.

The draft law aims to provide legislative guidance on the powers of these entities to identify and return deported or forcibly displaced children.

One of the primary responsibilities of the child’s legal representatives and other authorized bodies is the development of an individual return plan.

A comprehensive and tailored plan is essential for addressing the unique needs of each child.
