Yesterday, during her working visit to Kharkiv, Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk convened a meeting with representatives of international organizations.

Ihor Terekhov, the mayor of Kharkiv, Yevhen Ivanov, and Vita Kovalska, deputy heads of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, and volunteers were in attendance at the meeting.

The meeting participants engaged in a discussion regarding crisis response measures, humanitarian needs in the Kharkiv region, and the capacity to meet them. In particular, the meeting participants reviewed preparations for the heating season, food supplies, and other measures to ensure the livelihood of the Kharkiv region’s population.

Iryna Vereshchuk proposed that international partners collaborate on the development of a comprehensive plan to address these needs. The plan should assist those who plan to evacuate and those who will remain in the Kharkiv region.

International partners were requested to prepare their proposals and identify their capabilities to meet the humanitarian needs of the region’s population.

“We must help the region overcome its challenges. The people who live here need our support. That is why I urge everyone to help solve the problems that will ensure the vital activity of the Kharkiv region. I am counting on our international partners. Ukrainians especially require it at this difficult time for our country. I am confident that by joining forces we will overcome all difficulties,” said Iryna Vereshchuk.
