The issue was discussed at a meeting on the provision of fuel wood to vulnerable populations in the frontline areas, chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.
The meeting participants discussed the work of the RMA in compiling lists of vulnerable categories of the population, with a particular focus on those who will need to be provided with fuel wood in the first place.
Representatives from the following oblasts were in attendance: Kharkiv, Kherson, Sumy, Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Chernihiv, as well as Luhansk. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the International Humanitarian Cluster for Shelter and Non-Food Items in Ukraine.
A combination of assistance will be provided to ensure a sustainable heating season in 2024-2025. This will be in the form of solid fuel, which will be delivered directly to households or in the form of cash to be used for its purchase.
Iryna Vereshchuk directed the relevant local authorities to gather the necessary data and develop a revised plan of action.
To get state help with buying solid fuel, contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine and apply for a subsidy. This is to get help during the next winter.
It is important to note that for the government to be able to budget funds promptly and communicate with international partners, it is necessary to collect an objective need for people in need of support today.
The Ministry of Reintegration is contacting vulnerable citizens in the frontline areas. We encourage you to apply without delay.
