Viktor left Donetsk for Sloviansk and then Cherkasy after the full-scale war started.

Despite being blind since childhood, he has been swimming for a long time and has become a Paralympic Games medalist and Honoured Master of Sports.

After the start of the invasion, Viktor moved to Cherkasy. He went to the regional employment center, where he was advised to use the Your Own Business grant program for internally displaced people. The center’s specialists helped him apply, write a business plan, and pass an interview.

Viktor got a grant of almost UAH 250 thousand.

He bought the equipment he needed to start his own business, including washing machines, dryers, and a steam generator.

The laundry and dry cleaning service started operating. It is called Happy Laundry.

A laundry worker said she found a job and role model in Viktor. She was impressed by his biography on Wikipedia and said working here inspired her.

Viktor says he’s getting used to his new business and his wife helps him. He wants to keep developing his business and creating jobs.
