Another prisoner exchange took place today. Another 95 Ukrainian defenders were freed.
Forty-nine Ukrainian soldiers, ten sailors, twenty-one National Guardsmen, seven terrorists, five border guards, two State Special Transport Service members, and one volunteer were released.
A defender who was missing has also been released.
The exchange of prisoners was conducted by the instructions of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and with the collaboration of the President’s Office, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Reintegration, and other relevant agencies.
The Government of Ukraine extends its gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for its invaluable assistance and mediation in preparing the exchange.
People released from captivity get food packages and backpacks with clothes, shoes, hygiene products, and a smartphone. The National Information Bureau and the Ministry of Reintegration prepare these.
The NIB will help people released from captivity get their documents and SIM cards back. It will also help people collect documents for one-time financial assistance of UAH 100,000 from the state.
Today marks the 54th exchange of prisoners of war since the start of the russian invasion. A total of 3,405 people have been released.
