The Vice Prime Minister extended a greeting to the participants of the forum, “Veterans – the Way Home: Community Capacities in Protecting the Rights and Meeting the Needs of Veterans,” which is taking place today in Ternopil.

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy and Veterans’ Rights Protection, the Inter-Factional Deputy Association “Rehabilitation Forces of Ukraine,” and the USAID Rada: Next Generation Program organized the event with the Ternopil Regional Military Administration and Ternopil City Council’s support.

The forum aims to find new solutions for veterans’ policy at the national and local levels. It also discusses positive experiences in veterans’ work and normative initiatives on veterans’ policy.

Iryna Vereshchuk thanked MPs who work in veterans’ policy, including Halyna Tretiakova, Taras Tarasenko, Anatolii Ostapenko, and Yevheniia Kravchuk.

“I’d like to thank our MPs for their work on veterans’ policy. We’ve seen positive changes recently, thanks to their efforts,” the official said.

“It would be beneficial to establish a ‘cult of the veteran’ in our country. This would demonstrate respect for veterans and would involve more than just words; it would require concrete actions,” Iryna Vereshchuk concluded.
