A non-governmental organization asked the Ministry of Reintegration to help evacuate a girl with a disability from the temporarily occupied Donetsk region. She was living with her grandmother while her mother was in the government-controlled territory.
When her grandmother died, the occupiers sent the girl to a boarding school for people with disabilities in russia.
The Ministry of Reintegration, the Ukrainian Child Rights Network, Pluriton, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the State Migration Service worked together to return her.
It took almost 28 days to prepare the route and journey. Svitlana and her mother are now safe.
