Iryna Vereshchuk, the Vice Prime Minister, led a regular meeting on humanitarian response in the Kharkiv region.

The group talked about getting ready to roll out the UNHCR program, which is offering some groups of people one-time cash assistance for the winter. The project is providing a one-time payment of UAH 21 thousand for the purchase of solid household fuel for vulnerable households.

The plan is to send the aid to households within 10 kilometers of the contact line or the border with russia (i.e., the frontline areas).

The Kharkiv RMA is studying the needs of the population in Dvorichanska, Kupianska, and Vovchanska.

They also reviewed the transfer of 15 mobile gas boilers to local communities in Kharkiv Oblast to ensure the region’s life support facilities operate stably.

The Ministry of Infrastructure has already prepared the equipment transfer order and sent it to the central authorities for approval.

“We don’t have much time to prepare for winter. We need to take action now to help communities get through winter,” said Iryna Vereshchuk.
