Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk convened a working meeting with a delegation from the Danish Refugee Council (DRC)

The delegation included Charlotte Slente, Secretary General of the Danish Refugee Council; Gerry Harvey, Executive Director for Asia and Europe; Julian Zakrzewski, Director of the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine; and Dina Good, Government Relations Coordinator.

Specific focus was placed on assisting individuals evacuated from the conflict-stricken regions of Donetsk Oblast.

In a statement, DRC representatives committed to intensifying their efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to evacuees from the Donetsk region in the Kirovohrad and Dnipro regions.

The DRC delegation also inquired about the current situation in the Kursk region. Iryna Vereshchuk emphasized that Ukraine adheres to the norms of international humanitarian law in the hostilities in the Kursk region of russia. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are assisting the local population with essential supplies, including water, food, medicines, and medical care.

Furthermore, the parties engaged in discussions regarding the safety of mines in areas that have been or are at risk of contamination by explosive devices. It is noteworthy that the DRC is actively involved in humanitarian mine action in Ukraine.

For your information, the DRC is a leading international humanitarian organization with a specialization in the field of forced displacement. Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, they have initiated a multisectoral humanitarian response.
