The Second All-Ukrainian Forum of IDP Councils is scheduled to take place in Kyiv on August 27-28.

IDP Councils are advisory bodies that advocate for the rights and interests of internally displaced persons. There are currently 873 IDP Councils across Ukraine.

Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk extended a warm welcome to all participants in the event. Other speakers included Caroline Lindholm Billing, representative of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Ukraine; Matthew Johnson, Stabilization Advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine; Uliana Bakh, Project Director of the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX) in Ukraine; and Valeria Vershynynina, Executive Director of the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation.

The forum will discuss the following topics:

– IDP Council activities

– Support for IDPs

– Housing for IDPs.

– Jobs for IDPs.

– IDP social protection.

Stabilization Support Services, the Ministry of Reintegration, UNHCR, and IREX organized the event.
