The government has introduced relevant amendments to the Annex to the Cabinet of Ministers’ Resolution No. 329 of April 26, 2017. These amendments provide for the inclusion of representatives of the security and defense forces, state authorities, and local self-government bodies involved in the application of the law of armed conflict in the Interagency Commission on International Humanitarian Law (IHL).
The commission should include:
– Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine
– Head of the Joint Center for the Coordination of the Search and Release of Prisoners of War at the Security Service of Ukraine.
– A representative of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (by agreement).
The commission should also include the deputy heads of the Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regional military administrations (if they agree).
The Ministry of Reintegration created the act for the Interagency Commission on International Humanitarian Law (IHL), led by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.
The changes will make it easier for Ukraine to meet its international humanitarian law obligations.
