At a recent meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the De-occupied Territories chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, the issue was discussed.
During the meeting, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Science provided an update on the status of implementation of paragraph 34 of the Procedure for Organizing and Maintaining Military Records of Conscripts, Persons Liable for Military Service and Reservists, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 1487 of December 30, 2022.
On July 9, 2024, the Government adopted amendments to paragraph 34 of the Procedure. Under these amendments, enrollment in educational institutions for citizens who are subject to military registration and are in the TOT or have left the TOT and territories of active hostilities abroad is carried out with a delay in their military registration under martial law.
The Ministry of Education and Science provided methodological recommendations for higher and professional higher education institutions on the implementation of paragraph 34 of the Procedure. However, citizens who left their places of residence due to the ongoing hostilities in the territories at the time of their departure were questioned.
“These changes should apply to all citizens, regardless of when they left. The main requirement is that the settlement belonged to the territories of active hostilities at the time of the citizen’s application,” the Vice Prime Minister emphasized.
Iryna Vereshchuk directed the Ministry of Education and Science to conclude this matter.
