Another 49 Ukrainians, including Azovstal defenders, were freed from captivity.

The exchange of prisoners of war was completed today. We are pleased to report that 26 men and 23 women have been returned from captivity.

The released individuals included eight representatives of the Armed Forces (two of whom were terrorists), two from the National Police, four border guards, 13 sailors, 15 National Guard personnel who had been defending Mariupol and Azovstal, and seven civilians.

Among the released individuals was Lenia Umerova, a Crimean Tatar activist who was captured by Russian forces while attempting to cross the border of Georgia.

Additionally, Colonel Viktor Ivchuk, a Hero of Ukraine and the former commander of a military hospital in Mariupol, is also returning home.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and many other agencies did the exchange of prisoners.

Those released from captivity will receive food packages and backpacks with clothes, shoes, hygiene products, and a smartphone prepared for them by the National Information Bureau and the Ministry of Reintegration.

The NIB will also help those released from captivity get their documents and SIM cards back. It will also help them get a one-time financial assistance of UAH 100,000 from the state.

All those released from russian captivity will get medical care and rehabilitation.

Ukraine thanks the United Arab Emirates for helping organize the exchange.

This is the 56th prisoner exchange since russia invaded. 3,569 people have been released.
