A meeting on internally displaced persons was held with Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, as chair.

The participants listened to a presentation by the Head of the Kyiv office of the Register of Damages caused by russia’s aggression against Ukraine. The report concerned the Register’s functioning and the development of an international mechanism for obtaining compensation in the future.

The Registry Board recently approved forms and rules for submitting new claims for damages caused by Russian aggression. These include people who have been displaced from Ukraine, deprived of their liberty, forced to work, forcibly transferred, or deported, and those who have lost their housing.

The new categories will be available after the Registry Conference approves them.

The speaker reminded the meeting participants that the Conference of Registry Participants has already approved 13 application forms. 12 of them are being implemented for access through the Diia web portal.

Ukraine’s Register of Losses has been accepting applications from Ukrainian citizens since April 2024 for damage or destruction of residential real estate.
