Here’s a quick guide on how to make calls to 112 for people with hearing or speech impairments

People with hearing and speech impairments can also call 112 in case of emergencies. The Government portal reports.

To contact 112 via a smartphone, you need to do several things.

1. Text “Video assistance” to 112.

2. You will then get a link to the video call.

3. Click the link. The 112 service will ask for access to your microphone and camera. Give permission.

After that, you’ll be all set to communicate with the operator in sign language.

You can also reach any emergency service with a single SMS to the free short number 112.

We would like to remind you that the single telephone number 112 is free of charge and works with all emergency services:

– rescue service (phone number 101)

– police (phone number 102);

– ambulance (phone number 103);

– gas emergency service (telephone number 104).
