Ukraine established a National Institute of Housing

Опубліковано 19 September 2024 року, о 17:15

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) started it with the help of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR). The UNHCR website reports.

The Institute will help Ukraine and its partners build more affordable housing for people who have been displaced or whose homes have been damaged or destroyed by war.

Furthermore, the Institute will function as a research, analytical, and innovation hub. It will conduct nationwide surveys, collect data on the existing housing stock, including social and other affordable housing, and focus on regions that have experienced significant challenges.

This data will be collated on a bespoke online platform, enabling national, local, and international partners to identify suitable housing solutions.

The National Housing Institute will advise the Ukrainian government on housing issues. It will study current legislation, provide advice on reforms, and help develop new programs.
