The IDP Council at Cherkasy Regional State Administration has 18 members, 9 of whom are internally displaced.

Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, chaired a meeting on IDP issues.

There are 21 IDP councils in Cherkasy region, including 4 at the rayon level and 16 in communities.

The IDP Council at the Cherkasy RMA works on:

– Housing for IDPs in temporary accommodation.

– IDPs’ pensions and social security.

– Promoting IDP rights.

– Support for businesses and projects that have moved.

– Healthcare, education, and child rights.

The IDP Council works with local authorities, businesses, organizations, and public groups to help people who have been forced to leave their homes.
