From June to August 2024, russia killed at least 589 civilians in Ukraine and injured 2,685 more.
The UN Human Rights Office reports this.
It is worth noting that the number of civilian casualties during this period was 45% higher than in the previous one, namely in spring 2024.
The rise in fatalities can be attributed to the intensified shelling in proximity to the front line, particularly in the Donetsk region, coupled with the extensive assaults on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
According to the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, at least 11,743 civilians have been killed and 24,614 injured in Ukraine since February 24, 2022, as a result of actions related to the armed aggression of the russian federation.
