The Council of Europe Development Bank is helping make this happen as part of the HOME: Compensation for Destroyed Housing program. The Government Portal reports.

Ukraine got the first €70 million in early September to start the project.

Oleksiy Kuleba, Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Communities and Territories Development, says the money will go towards paying for about 2,000 housing certificates.

The ministry is working on a request for the second tranche of €30 million right now.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that this government initiative is aimed at financing housing certificates that Ukrainians received under the state compensation program, eRecovery. These certificates will help owners of damaged and destroyed housing to purchase new homes.
