A resident of Kupiansk district will be tried for spreading russian propaganda

A 33-year-old resident of the Kupiansk district will be tried in the Kharkiv region on charges of collaboration with the occupying forces.

The investigation revealed that in 2022, he assisted in the broadcasting of russian propaganda TV channels in the temporarily occupied territory.

This information was provided by the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

During the occupation, the accused assisted in re-equipping the local telecommunications network to disseminate Kremlin propaganda.

Furthermore, he was tasked with hiring personnel and ensuring the disbursement of salaries in Russian rubles.

Following the cessation of the occupation, the individual relocated to Kharkiv. However, law enforcement officers gathered the requisite evidence and exposed him.

He is in jail waiting for his trial on charges of collaboration (Article 111-1 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code).

He could go to jail for up to 12 years and lose his property and job for up to 15 years.
