A regular meeting on international humanitarian support for vulnerable populations in frontline areas was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.

The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Reintegration, the UN Shelter and Non-Food Item Cluster in Ukraine, the ICRC, UNHCR, IOM, the URCS, UNICEF, CARITAS, OCHA, and regional military administrations.

The participants reviewed the status of the implementation of the government resolution on providing one-time financial assistance to the population during the 2024/25 heating season for the purchase of solid household heating fuel. This assistance is intended for residents of the following regions: Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson, and Mykolaiv.

By the end of October, UNHCR anticipates initiating disbursements. Over 20,000 identified households are expected to receive payments.

Furthermore, the participants reviewed the present status of solid fuel supplies from the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN Shelter and Non-Food Item Cluster.
