A regular interagency meeting was held to discuss the implementation of international technical assistance projects of the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund (USIF), which are being carried out with the Ministry of Reintegration and the Government of Germany. The event was chaired by the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Iryna Vereshchuk.
The meeting was attended by representatives of several Ukrainian ministries and other stakeholders.
The participants listened to the USIF Executive Director’s report on several projects, including USIF VII, USIF VIII, USIF IX, “EU4Skills: Modernization of Vocational Education and Training Infrastructure in Ukraine,” and “Vocational Education in the Eastern Partnership.”
These projects cover Kyiv, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Lviv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro.
The meeting focused on key areas of reconstruction, including the repair of houses for IDPs, outpatient clinics, vocational education institutions, and other social facilities.
It was also noted that the EU4Skills project has completed the renovation of Drohobych Higher Vocational School No. 19 in Lviv Oblast. The opening of workshops at Kremenchuk Higher Vocational School No. 7 is scheduled for this month.
Furthermore, this month, outpatient clinics will be established in Verbuvativka village (Pavlohrad district), Vasylkivka village (Synelnykivka district), and Magdalynivka village (Dnipro region) under the USIF VII and USIF VIII projects.
It was also noted that there is an opportunity to include several new facilities in Lviv, Khmelnytsky, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, and Chernivtsi oblasts in the USIF IX project. Negotiations with the German Government are currently underway to repair these facilities and prepare them for temporary residence of IDPs.
