As a result of repatriation activities, Ukraine has returned the bodies of soldiers killed in the Avdiivka, Bakhmut, Maryinka, Vuhledar, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk sectors to their respective hometowns. Additionally, one body has been repatriated from a morgue in russia.
The bodies were repatriated with the support of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons, the Joint Center at the SBU, the Central Military Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other government entities, and international organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Forensic experts will identify the victims.
After they are identified, the bodies of the fallen defenders will be given to their families for a proper burial.
