The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved and within three days should submit a proposal to apply personal special economic and other restrictive measures for a period of three years to 11 citizens of the Russian Federation to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine at the request of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.

In particular, that is about the following culture and art actors from the Russian Federation:

  1. Vdovichenkov Volodymyr
  2. Epplie Zhanna
  3. Kabo Olha
  4. Orlov Dmytro
  5. Petrov Oleksandr
  6. Pronin Yevhenii
  7. Slanevska Anastasiia
  8. Stychkin Yevhenii
  9. Sumishevskyi Yaroslav
  10. Trubiner Pavlo
  11. Chadov Oleksii

"The draft act was developed proactively, based on the results of processing the information provided in the letter of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Identified citizens act as violators of the procedure of entry and exit to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine - the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol city, given the nature of their public activities, carry out destructive actions to the detriment of the national interests and security of the Ukrainian people through attempts to form relevant public opinion," the document reads.

The proposed sanctions package provides for the denial and cancellation of visas to the aforementioned residents of foreign countries, as well as the application of other bans on entry into the territory of Ukraine.

After the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine adopts the corresponding decision and its further enters into force, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall inform the competent authorities of the European Union, the United States, Canada and other states on this decision in order for them to consider the introduction of similar restrictive measures.

"These 'culture' actors disregard the laws of our state, disregard international law. If they want to go to the Ukrainian Crimea either for vacation or to sing, there is only one option: through one of the three EECPs to cross the administrative border and get to the territory of the Ukrainian peninsula in accordance with Ukrainian legislation," said the Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories Ihor Yaremenko.

"When under the guise of culture there is a blatant disregard for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, that is not about culture actors, that is about the actors of the Kremlin propaganda, to whom severe sanctions should be applied by our state," noted Oleksandr Tkachenko.
