The Interdepartmental Commission for consideration of issues related to the recognition of persons deprived of liberty as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine and the implementation of measures aimed at their social protection, at its session on June 3rd, 2021 has adopted relevant decisions on 65 Ukrainian citizens.

We are referring to Ukrainians, who were in captivity in different years since the beginning of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine - since 2014, and were released or are still illegally detained by the occupying state or its occupation regimes.

In particular, 8 families of Ukrainian citizens illegally imprisoned by the occupation administration and/or authorities of the Russian Federation, who are still behind bars, will receive payments for legal aid in the amount of UAH 100,000.

In addition, another 57 Ukrainian citizens, previously released from the Russian captivity, were recognized by the Interdepartmental Commission as those who were deprived of liberty as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine. All of them will also receive a one-time monetary aid in the amount of UAH 100,000.

Let us recall that at the end of May, the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine paid a one-time monetary aid in the amount of UAH 100,000 to Ukrainians, who were in captivity in different years since the beginning of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine - since 2014, and were released.

The Ministry for Reintegration of TOT continues its work to simplify the mechanism of assistance provision to citizens who were adversely affected as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (illegally convicted, prisoners of war).
