The Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine and Starobilsk City Council have signed a Memorandum on the establishment of a modern agro-logistic hub within the framework of the project "The Eastern Ukraine: Reconnect, Recover, Revitalize" (3R).
The First Deputy Minister handed over the Memorandum, signed by Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov to Mayor of Starobilsk Yana Lytvynova within the framework of the working visit to Luhansk oblast.
"The establishment of such an agro-logistic complex is important for this Eastern region. It will be one of the key elements in the context of the future implementation of the Strategy of economic development of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, because it involves a withdrawal of the economy from the shadows, the development of small and medium enterprises and the strengthening of human resources capacity of the region," noted Rostyslav Zamlynskyi.
During the meeting, the Parties discussed the concept of agro-logistic hub, its objectives and the services it should provide. In particular, it was preliminarily agreed that the owner of the agro-logistic hub can be Starobilsk community or an agricultural cooperative.
Moreover, four land plots potentially suitable for the construction of agro-logistic hub were considered, Rostyslav Zamlynskyi has examined personally two of them.
Zamlynskyi also proposed to expand cooperation of farmers and support small and medium-sized farms, which in particular have land up to 500 hectares, and instructed to make an inventory of them within three weeks and analyse the products that are produced to determine in detail the needs of the end beneficiaries of the project.
