Since 2010, Crimean Tatars have celebrated National Flag Day on June 26. The yellow Tamga emblem on a blue background is the symbol of the Crimean Tatars’ national revival.
The tradition, which originated on the peninsula, now exists on the mainland of Ukraine.
In Crimea, since 2014, it has become a symbol of Crimean Tatar resistance to russian aggression and an expression of their identity.
Today, we raise Crimean Tatar flags to honor the courage of the indigenous people of Crimea.
