In the ether of Ukraine 24 TV channel, the Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk assured that the Ukrainian authorities would do everything possible to evacuate civilians in Mariupol.

– As of now, 17 buses are full of people who have left Berdyansk and are waiting in Vasylivka. But, as has been repeatedly, the russians do not let them pass through the checkpoints. However, we know what to do to get these people to Zaporizhzhia tonight. The situation is complicated by the fact that we are not allowed to enter Mariupol from Berdyansk. And this 84-kilometer-long road must be overcome by the citizens. The nearest place to get is the ring at the entrance to Berdyansk. That’s where we gather people, put them on buses and then, overcoming 15 checkpoints, we go to Zaporizhzhia, – the official explained.

Summing up the work of Sunday’s humanitarian corridors, Iryna Vereshchuk noted that in Luhansk region today they only partially worked, as shelling continues and the occupier does not comply with the ceasefire.

It is, first of all, about Rubizhne and Popasna.

– But little by little we are moving there: thanks to the head of the regional military-civil administration, Serhiy Haidai and all the volunteers – they are our heroes! – the head of the Ministry of Reintegration emphasized.

Iryna Vereshchuk advised citizens to use the official humanitarian corridors – to protect themselves.

– If we have announced an open humanitarian corridor and evacuation is carried out centrally, citizens should definitely take this opportunity to move to safer areas. After all, there may be no evacuation later.

At the same time, the official advised – if there are no official corridors, or russia declares the work of some of its “corridors”, which the Ukrainian authorities do not confirm – do not take risks! Do not use questionable routes. Because it is a trap that can cost a life.
