Since March last year, about 600 thousand Ukrainians have returned to work. As of the end of 2022, the number of employees according to the Register of Insured Persons was 8.6 million. Such data was released by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the war, trends in the labor market have changed. Currently, there is the greatest demand for pharmacists, family doctors and psychologists. This is due to the fact that a significant number of medical specialists are now providing assistance to soldiers at the front, so their demand in civilian life is growing.

The demand for psychological help is also growing. While the culture of seeking psychological help in Ukraine used to be underdeveloped, Ukrainians are now more willing to contact these specialists.

In the liberated territories, there is an increased demand for utility workers, drivers, power engineers, and construction workers of various qualifications.

To this end, the State Employment Service organizes retraining in blue-collar occupations. In addition, the Employment Service has developed 17 new educational programs in the IT sector, as this is the most popular field among those wishing to change their profession.

To stimulate the labor market, the government has implemented programs to boost entrepreneurship and employment. In particular, there are grant programs, such as eRobota, under which the government provides financial support in the form of a grant. Entrepreneurs can receive from UAH 50 to 250 thousand to start or develop their own business.

It is important that the funds are provided on the condition that new jobs are created.

Employment of internally displaced persons is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Reintegration. Employment is the main tool for integrating IDPs into host communities.
