A seminar of the Coordination Center for Mental Health under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on regional coordination began today in Kyiv. The event is part of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program initiated by First Lady Olena Zelenska.

The seminar brought together deputy heads of regional military administrations, regional coordinators of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program, and representatives of ministries.

Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk spoke at the event about the importance of coordination and interaction at all levels to ensure the population’s support.

In particular, the official stressed the importance of cooperation with local authorities, volunteers, and international partners. Finally, when it comes to mental health, close collaboration will help focus on the community’s needs. It’s about passing the necessary laws, getting funding, etc.

“There has to be a long-term strategy. And it must be realistic and practical. We must clearly understand what our people need and be able to give it to them,” concludes Iryna Vereshchuk.
