Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk chaired a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the Departure of Citizens from the TOT.

 

One of the key issues on the agenda is further support for the draft law 9069 on the peculiarities of the state registration of civil status acts, which took place in the TOT. The bill provides for the registration of births, deaths, marriages, and divorces in the TOT without going to court.

 

After all, according to the statistics provided to the members of the Coordinating Center, in 2014-2021 the occupying authorities recorded 206,322 births in Crimea alone, 184,452 of which were not registered according to the requirements of Ukrainian legislation. In addition, 283,199 deaths occurred on the peninsula during this period, of which 278,101 are still unregistered.

 

The figures show that after the de-occupation hundreds of thousands of civil status acts of Ukrainian citizens, which took place in the TOT, will have to be registered immediately. This will place an excessive burden on the judicial system. Taking into account the information provided, the meeting participants decided to continue the information campaign to emphasize the importance of the provisions of the document.

 

The meeting also discussed support for other bills. In particular, draft amendments to the Criminal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and other regulations to address the issue of crediting time served in prison for time served in TOT.

 

Another draft law proposes amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure, stipulating that documents issued by the occupation authorities to register deaths in the TOT cannot be used as grounds for closing criminal proceedings.

 

In addition, the SMS was instructed to draft amendments to Resolution No. 678 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The essence of the innovation is to allow the foreign branches of the state enterprise “Document” to accept documents and application forms from persons who apply for a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for the first time after reaching the age of 18.
