The state budget of Ukraine has received another non-refundable tranche from the United States in the amount of $1.25 billion. The Ministry of Finance reports.
Grant funds are used to reimburse state budget expenditures. In particular, to ensure payments under certain state social assistance programs, namely for internally displaced persons, persons with disabilities, low-income families, housing and utility subsidies, and other social benefits.
Part of the funds will also be used to pay the salaries of government employees.
The grant was provided as part of the fifth replenishment under the project “Public Expenditure Support for Ensuring Sustainable Public Administration in Ukraine” (PEACE in Ukraine).
The goal of the project is to partially compensate for state budget expenditures, including social and humanitarian expenditures not related to security and defense.
The Ministry recalled that in 2023, Ukraine has already received $8.45 billion in direct budget support grants from the United States. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the state budget of Ukraine has already received $ 20.4 billion in assistance.
